Complaints of speeding through villages including Birkby, Crosby, Prospect and Dearham

1. High visibility patrols and use of Speed Enforcement Cameras
2. Numerous motorists prosecuted for speeding and vehicle defect offences
3. Speed camera vans to be deployed in the area
4. Speed Indication Device (SID) deployed in Crosby during April 2026. Average speeds were found to be well below the speed limit, however a minority of vehicles were travelling at excess speeds
5. Further speeding enforcement activity planned.

WE DID:
Joint working with local housing associations and injunctions obtained on individuals responsible for damage and disorder on Eaglesfield Street
Increased police patrols to target hotspot areas
Use of stop and search powers resulting in the arrest of several individuals for drug supply offences. Investigations for these are still ongoing.
