What you'll do
As a frontline police officer you will be the face of the Constabulary supporting local communities, building relationships and combating crime. It is a vital role and one that makes a tangible difference to the communities in which we serve.
It is therefore imperative that you, as a police officer, can understand, empathise and work with lots of different people from all different backgrounds and walks of life. No two days are the same and you will need to be able to draw from your training and instincts to make important decisions.
It's a demanding and fast paced environment, but one that is incredibly rewarding for those looking to make a real difference. From providing community reassurance to making arrests, our officers are supporting the community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Our Police Constable Apprenticeship programme (PCDA) is open for those without a degree and during your training you will work towards a degree whilst working as a police officer
Our Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP) is open for those without a degree. It is a two-year training programme; it gives a blend of practical on-the-job experience and classroom-based learning.
Our Professional Policing Degree and PCEP DC (Detective Pathway) routes are available at selected times only. If we open these routes we will publicise on our website and social media.
