Police support volunteers

Cumbria Constabulary’s volunteer programme gives members of the public the opportunity to use their time and skills for the benefit of their communities and in a way that is interesting and enjoyable.

Volunteers are members of the community who, following training, make an invaluable contribution by giving up their time in a diverse range of roles alongside police officers and police staff. Volunteers bring us skills, talent and local knowledge which help us to continue to be a top performing force and deliver an excellent policing service to our local communities.

Everyone has something to offer as a volunteer. Volunteering can be a useful way to gain a network of new contacts and improve confidence. Perhaps you are considering Cumbria Constabulary as a future employer and this is an excellent way to see for yourself what it might be like. We currently have volunteers performing a variety of roles across the force for example:

• Farm watch
• Restorative justice administrator
• Community speed watch administrator
• Police dog puppy walker
• Sexual violence prevention volunteer
• Country watch
• Neighbourhood policing assistants
• Positive action volunteer

If you have some spare time to donate, why not come and try it? We can provide lots of opportunities to help you learn new skills and make a positive difference in your area but it’s important that we match your skills to a suitable volunteer role.
