Special constable training

You will be required to attend formal induction training at Police HQ, Penrith. This is a combination of attendance on weekdays and weekends for training in legislation, first aid, police powers and procedures and conflict management.

Dates of the training are as per the attached timetable. You will be expected to be able to commit to all the training dates specified. If you are concerned about not being able to commit to the dates, please contact the Citizen in Policing team – [email protected]

Weekend 2 -
Saturday 18th January - Sunday 19th January

Weekend 3 -
Saturday 1st February - Sunday 2nd February

Personal Safety Training -
Friday 14th February - Sunday 23rd February

Weekend 4 -
Saturday 15th March - Sunday 16th March

Weekend 5 -
Saturday 29th March - Sunday 30th March

Weekend 6 -
Saturday 12th April - Sunday 13th April

Weekend 7 -
Saturday 26th April - Sunday 27th April

You must complete all mandatory induction training before being deployed operationally.

There will also be ongoing training available to you on new legislation, conflict management and other key skills, which will also support you in any employment you may have and personal development.
