Audit of the Accounts: On 17 January 2024, the auditor issued his audit findings report and an unqualified opinion on the accounts for the year ending 31 March 2023 for the separate entities of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cumbria and the Chief Constable for Cumbria Constabulary.
The auditor is not able to issue their certificate of completion of the audits at this time due to the requirement to report on the group’s arrangements for securing economy, efficiency and effectiveness in its use of resources. The auditor has applied the special provisions in the National Audit Office’s Auditor Guidance Note 03 and will be completing this work to a later timescale. The notice of conclusion of the audit will be added to the website alongside the audit certificate as soon as it is issued.
