Conditions of entry

Misconduct hearings are a formal process. The below information and conditions of entry apply. You must agree to follow these conditions when registering to attend a hearing.

General information

• No smoking is allowed on police premises.
• No scheduled fire alarms are due to take place.
• Fire exits are clearly marked around police premises – assembly point is at the front of the HQ building.
• If you have a disability that may result in difficulty evacuating the building in a timely manner in the event of a fire, you must make this known at the time of entering the building.
• Visitors are required to sign in and out, and to wear a visitor badge at all times when on police premises.
• You will be accompanied while at HQ.
• Water machines and toilet facilities will be available.
• Nottinghamshire Police is on heightened security and it is your responsibility to look after your belongings. Please do not leave any bags or personal belongings unattended.
• Food and drink are not allowed in the hearing.

Conditions

• You must confirm your identity before entry will be allowed. Please produce photographic identification to allow verification of your identity.
• You must sign in and out of force headquarters and wear a visitor badge; please do not leave the premises without signing out.
• Toilet facilities and a water machine will be made available for you. There are only limited refreshment facilities available.
• No recording equipment, photographic or audio, is allowed in the proceedings.
• Mobile telephones/devices must be turned off during the proceedings.
• No social media reporting is allowed while the evidence is still being presented.
• Please do not leave the room or enter the room until there is a break in proceedings.
• You must remain in the designated area when the hearing is not in progress and must consult with your chaperones if you have any queries.
• You must not disrupt the proceedings; your entry is as an observer only. Any disruption to proceedings may result in you being asked to leave and/or escorted from the premises.
• Proceedings may run into the evening, if you use public transport it is advisable to make yourself aware of the bus timetable as services may become limited later into the evening.

These conditions are set for a number of reasons, including ensuring fairness during the proceedings to all parties. They are also to ensure your safety while on police premises and the safety of others.
