Brampton Priorities

  • We have recieved complaints of speeding vehicles in various locations.
Issue was set on Thursday, April 6
    • We will work with the local communities, parish councils and volunteers to target speeding vehicles. We will do this by; 1. Finding local volunteers to help raise awareness 2. Implement Community Speed Watch schemes through the area 3. Support those Community Speed Watch schemes by having skilled special constables who will enforce the speed limits in each area.
  • Challenge speeding vehicles on Carlisle and North Rural road
Issue was set on Tuesday, May 2
    • We did: We have set up 12 Community Speed Watch schemes in Carlisle and North Rural areas, with others waiting to be trained. To complement these scheme we have trained 10 special constables who will attend problematic locations to enforce the law. North PCSO's have also been trained and will be conducting speed checks throughout the Carlisle North and rural areas, this will assist in building confidence slowing vehicles in our communities and challenging those who continue to speed on Cumbrian road. Schemes have identified clear reductions in speeding vehicles.
