Carlisle City Centre Priorities

  • You said: Anti Social Behaviour in the City Centre
Issue was set on Tuesday, June 27
    • We did: Operation Mangrove continues to provides 3 dedicated police officers to the city centre to address youth anti-social behaviour problems. During May and June, we have seen only isolated incidents of youth ASB on Scotch street. We are no longer regularly seeing large groups of youths gathering. Police are continuing to take positive action where crimes are committed. In May a 16 year old was reported for an offence of damage on Scotch Street and referred to youth triage and a 16 year old was summonsed to court for a public order offence outside McDonald’s. We continue to have the Police desks in Carlisle Library in the Lanes shopping centre on Thursday afternoons between 3-5pm. This is an opportunity for the public to meet local officers to report incidents, obtain advice and to raise local priorities. Police also hold a weekly police desk at the Carlisle Youth Zone every Friday night 530pm -730pm.
