Carlisle City Centre Priorities

  • You said: Youth Anti -Social Behaviour
    Issue was set on Tuesday, August 23
    • We did: Operation Orion continues in Carlisle City Centre. We have continued to provide dedicated patrols to target youth disorder. We have now held several meeting with local business’s, City Council and Residents working together to reduce the problem. One main offender has been banned from the City Centre for 4 years. A number of young people are currently on police bail following an assault on an elderly pedestrian. Calls for service have reduced, however we will continue to robustly focus our patrols in the City Centre.
  • You said: Anti Social Behaviour in City Centre
    Issue was set on Friday, January 6
    • We did: Operation Orion continues in the City Centre with increased patrols and multi-agency working to tackle the issues including outreach work with Carlisle Youth Zone. Press Release: Two charged over public order incident in Carlisle Police have charged two men in relation to an incident which resulted in an elderly woman being knocked to the ground. On 21st July a group of teenagers and young adults were involved in altercation with a couple on West Tower Street, Carlisle. Two 18 year old males were charged with Public Order offences. They are both due to appear at North Cumbria Magistrates Court on 17th January 2017. The 86-year-old woman who was knocked to the ground suffered minor injuries.

Harraby and Currock Priorities

  • You Said: ASB use of Mini-Moto's around Old Harraby
    Issue was set on Friday, January 6
    • We Did: A mini moto was seized after pro-active work by PCSO Rushton in locating and tackling a group of offenders causing ASB. Work continues alongside with Council Neighborhood Enforcement Officers to identify and tackle offenders
  • You said: ASB in the Harraby area
    Issue was set on Monday, October 3
    • We did: We are currently looking at ways to resolve this issue

Botcherby and St Aidens Priorities

  • You said: Flood Recovery
    Issue was set on Tuesday, August 23
    • We did: Operation Hopwood continues on St Aidan’s area. This Operation was set up during the flood and we are now well on in the recovery phase. Officers continue to provide reassurance patrol in the area during renovations. Crime prevention advice has also continued to assist in preventing theft. We have also had a number of successful prosecutions where several burglars have been given custodial sentences.
  • You Said: Drugs and associated ASB/ acquisitive crime - St Aidens
    Issue was set on Monday, October 3
    • We did: Following community intelligence a male was found in possession of heroin in the street in St Aidens. Linked to this, an address nearby was searched where a large quantity of heroin was found, and another male was arrested for an offence of possession with intent to supply heroin.
  • You Said: Graffiti in Botcherby and St Aidans area
    Issue was set on Friday, January 6
    • We did: Following a spate of graffiti in the Botcherby and St Aidens area, a 15 year old was interviewed and reported for 5 offences of graffiti.
