Carlisle West Priorities

  • "You said" Anti-social driving in City centre car parks affecting city west residents
    Issue was set on Monday, April 10
    • We Did:" We are currently working alongside other agencies and the Road Traffic Policing Unit to identify the offenders. In August a vehicle was issued with a Section 59 police reform act warning, this was followed by the vehicle being uplifted and the driver of the vehicle being issued a Traffic Offence Report for Driving without due care and attention. Police continue to patrol the car parks and are taking positive action where crimes are committed.
  • Target speed of cars to improve road safety
    Issue was set on Thursday, September 6
    • We did: Work with partners to build an action month on speeding vehicles. We will target speed of vehicles throughout The month of October within the outskirts of Carlisle. We will do this by; 1. Using Community Speed Watch to identify high frequency locations and times. 2. Use speed camera vans to target drivers 3. Use Road Policing Units to target speeding drivers 4. Use Neighbourhood Policing Teams to target speeding drivers 5. Highlight the issue of speed and associated driving offences as per the pledge of Mr McCall OPCC.
  • You Said: anti-social use of motor vehicles on roads
    Issue was set on Thursday, September 6
    • We Did: Through partnership work we are challenging the use of vehicles by young drivers by; 1. Holding a Road Safety Awareness night on 26th September 2018 2. Targeting young drivers who drive irresponsibly. 3. Educating young drivers on the risks of driving dangerously 4. Targeting drivers who use mobile phones while driving or regularly speed. 5. Workington with partners to challenge driving cultures. 6. Bringing drivers to justice.

Dalston Priorities

  • "You said" Anti-social Behaviour
    Issue was set on Thursday, June 14
    • We did:" We worked closely with Caldew School and Riverside. One male was issued with a community protection warning letter banning him from certain area in Dalston where issues were being caused. Riverside also issued a tenancy warning to the same male.
