Carlisle City Centre Priorities

  • You Said: anti-social use of motor vehicles on roads
    Issue was set on Thursday, September 6
    • We Did: Through partnership work we are challenging the use of vehicles by young drivers by; 1. Holding a Road Safety Awareness night on 26th September 2018 2. Targeting young drivers who drive irresponsibly. 3. Educating young drivers on the risks of driving dangerously 4. Targeting drivers who use mobile phones while driving or regularly speed. 5. Workington with partners to challenge driving cultures. 6. Bringing drivers to justice.
  • You Said: Central Plaza ASB
    Issue was set on Wednesday, September 4
    • We Did: We have been working with the Council and have had all the debris from around the hotel removed. Plans are in place to get the fencing around the hotel more secure to stop people getting in and climbing on the scaffolding and we are working with the businesses close by in relation to extra lighting and CCTV cameras.
  • You Said: Street drinkers at Court Square
    Issue was set on Wednesday, September 4
    • We Did: We are currently working with the City Council and several of the street drinkers have now been issued with Community Protection Notices, which enables the City Council to issue on the spot fines to anyone with a notice caught drinking. Extra patrols in the area,

  • You Said: Anti-social use of motor vehicles on roads and footpaths
    Issue was set on Wednesday, September 4
    • We Did: We are currently working with the council to try and get barriers up to stop the vehicles using footpaths. Operation dreadnought is now targeting drivers driving in an anti-social way. Seizing uninsured vehicles and vehicles being used in an anti-social way and bringing the drivers to justice. PCSO’s regularly patrolling the area.
  • You Said: Anti-social behaviour in public parks
    Issue was set on Wednesday, September 4
    • We Did: Through partnership working identifying the youths responsible and bringing them to justice. Dedicated patrols in the area to deal with any offences and the anti-social behaviour.

  • You said: Drug related Anti Social behaviour
    Issue was set on Wednesday, September 4
    • We Did:With the help of the community and our partner agencies, Cumbria Constabulary continue to gather intelligence to enable us to disrupt drug activity in our community & prosecute those involved. We have made arrests, individuals have been charged and received custodial sentences.We urge the community to continue to work with us.
