Monitored - Policy Compliant Security Systems

When the alarm is activated it sends a signal to the Alarm Receiving Centre who contact the Police for attendance. These systems can be installed in both commercial and domestic properties by NSI (National Security Inspectorate) or SSAIB (Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board) Approved security companies.

Audible Only Alarms
Do not receive automatic police response and require additional information from a person at the scene that a criminal offence is in progress.

To obtain a list of Inspectorate Approved security companies within your locality please contact the NSI and SSAIB directly. Contact details can be found within Appendix H “Police Advice to Members of the Public Seeking Information on Security Companies” and Alarms Advice leaflets linked below.

Security companies who wish to become Listed as policy compliant with Cumbria Constabulary, should in the first instance apply in writing on their company’s letterhead to the Alarms Manager at Cumbria Constabulary Police HQ:
