Complete the £45 Course which means you do not pay the £90 fine
You have received a Fixed Penalty ticket for one of the following offences:
- Drunk and Disorderly (Section 91 Criminal Justice Act 1967)
- Section 5 Public Order Act where drinking was involved (Section 5 Public Order Act 1986)
You have an opportunity to attend and complete a two hour course in Cumbria at a venue in either Barrow, Workington or Carlisle. You will only pay £45 for the course. Once you have completed the course Cumbria Police will take no further action and you will not be required to pay the £90 Penalty Notice for Disorder.
If you wish to take the option of the course you must book immediately.

TTC 2000 Ltd. the course provider are working with the Police and Local Community Safety Partnerships to help reduce the level of alcohol fuelled crime and minimise the risk to individuals and the wider community.
The course will be in an interactive and relaxed environment, you will gain understanding around:
- The longer term effects of drinking
- The potential risks to you and others in alcohol fulled situations
- Alcohol units
- How to identify risk situations
You will also be able to make informed decisions on your future drinking habits and reduce the risk of re-offending. A second offence can have more serious consequences on your future.

You must have photographic identification (ID) however, if you don’t, you must advise TTC 2000 Ltd. of this when you book and pay for your course. TTC 2000 Ltd. will agree an acceptable alternative type of ID. You will not be permitted to complete the course if you fail to provide the agreed ID on arrival.
If you do not complete the course, the Fixed Penalty Notice of £90 will remain. You must then pay the fine of £90 or alternatively you could request a Court Hearing. Details on how to pay or request a Court Hearing are on the Penalty Notice. Failure to do either of these will result in the sum of £135 being registered against you at your home Court.
Penalty Notices for Disorder are registered on the Police National Computer and if considered appropriate may be disclosed as part of an enhanced criminal records check.
However, if you decide to complete the course, the records will be updated to reflect this.
