Trevor Lockwood

An Aspatria man has been sentenced to two years for grievous bodily harm committed against his partner.

Trevor Lockwood, aged 40, of Sheila Fell Close, Aspatria has today (Jan 20) been sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court for wounding with intent.

The incident occurred on the 1st September in which Lockwood punched his partner at the time in the face causing multiple facial fractures.

Detective Constable James Graham said “Lockwood denied the assault and said the victim was the aggressor.

“The victim suffered multiple injuries to the face following his assault which he said in interview was an accident.

“Domestic violence is a priority for Cumbria Constabulary and we take a proactive and sensitive approach to investigating incidents which are reported to us.

 

“Anyone experiencing domestic abuse can feel reassured that all reports will be dealt with sensitively and professionally.

 

“If you are a victim of domestic abuse, are affected by domestic abuse or know someone who is suffering please come forward.

 

“We do not want victims to suffer in silence – we can help you.
