Police were called to the Cross Street area of Workington shortly before 10:30pm last night (28 March) following reports of an assault.


Two people were taken to hospital with injuries consistent with stabbing. 

Both men received hospital treatment but were subsequently discharged.

One, a 51-year-old local man, was later arrested on suspicion of wounding and remains in police custody.

Police are not seeking anyone else in connection with this incident.
