Emergency services are currently dealing with a single vehicle road traffic collision on B5345 at Sandwith.

 

The collision occurred shortly after 11.15pm (1 July) where a red Audi A3 left the road and ended up in a nearby field.

 

The road is currently closed between the junctions of Mirehouse Road and Byerstead Road. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes.

 

The driver, a man aged in his 40s, has suffered serious injuries and is receiving medical treatment.

 

Officers are investigating the collision and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or the moments leading up to it, to contact police by calling 101 and  referencing incident number 274 of 1 July.
