Two people have died following a collision on the B5302 near Abbeytown yesterday (12th August). Police were called to the incident at 1:30pm, following a report of a two vehicle road traffic collision. 

The collision involved a Vauxhall Astra and a HGV.


As a result of the collision, the driver of the Astra, a 58 year-old man and the front seat passenger, a 15 year old girl, both from Silloth, sadly died at the scene.


Their family have been informed and a Family Liaison Officer has been appointed.


The driver of the HGV a 46-year-old woman from Carlisle was taken to Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle as a precaution.
