Police are appealing for information in relation to a fraud and theft investigation.

A 34-year-old man, from the Slough area, has been arrested in connection with the offences after officers received a report of almost £5,000 being paid to a builder to carry out work on a house in Haverigg. The work was not completed.

The man has been released under investigation.

Police are now appealing for residents in the Millom and Haverigg area to come forward if they have had landscape or building work carried out during August or September, which wasn't completed or finished as expected.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 and ask to speak to PC 1837 Scott, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
