Women's Community Matters is a an independent charity based in The Nan Tait Centre , Barrow . We opened our doors on the 25th November 2013 with the sole remit of helping to support women whatever their presenting needs are , no judgement , no long extended waiting period , ready to welcome women into the service and ready to work alongside them . We offer drop-in activities , personal development courses, one to one appointments and access to a free clothes bank .

Women's Community Matters work to support other agencies engagement with our client base by simply be there , often women will struggle to access external agencies without having someone to attend with them . This pays dividends for both agencies and clients alike, with better outcomes with engagement , completed work and hopefully an improvement in the clients situation overall . We have a staff base which compromises many areas of expertise and we have a wide variety of partnership agencies we refer to for specialist services.

In MARAC we are able to suggest engagement with our service if appropriate and access information about what other agencies may be working with our clients , thus providing a more cohesive support package .
