Strengthening Families Team is a county wide team of specialist nurses who assess and plan to address the health and developmental needs of children who have statutory children's services involvement. This responsibility extends from antenatal care to the age of eighteen. We work with families and carers whose children are considered Child In Need, are subject to a Child Protection Plan or who are Looked After Children. We also have responsibility for the assessment of the health and development needs of children placed here as part of the Syrian Refugee Programme during their first year of placement.

Actions following MARAC will be to support the family in addressing health need with attention to a child's physical and emotional safety. Carers will be supported in their mental health needs and signposted to supporting services where indicated.
