Our Pause programme runs for 18 months at a time with 21 women.
Pause works with women who have experienced the removal of one or more children and are risk of becoming pregnant and having that child removed into the care system. Our practitioners work creatively to offer a bespoke programme of practical and emotional support for up to 18 months. Pause offers women the space they need to take control of their lives and find new ways of overcoming their problems.
Pause Practitioners are creative and solution focussed and draw upon evidence informed interventions which include:
- Trauma informed practice
- Systemic practice
- Strength based approach
- Motivational interviewing
Pause practitioners offer women:
- Intensive practical and emotional support in a way they can access it.
- Dynamic and active intervention
- Harm reduction
- Advocacy
- Multi agency working
As a service we identify any potential women who would benefit from the Pause programme through MARAC. We contribute by sharing information with MARAC in order to safeguard the women we support. In addition, we will refer to MARAC if a women needs safeguarding.
