Homestays is connected to Fostering in Childrens Services. It supports CIN, adoption breakdowns, LAC and care leavers aged from 16 to 25. We support Homestays providers who offer a bedroom in their home under a supported lodging scheme to young people who are in education, training or employment. The young person should not be high risk or pose a threat to others. They are accommodated in a family home and are given support to learn how to live independently. The referral process is through their social worker. The placement can last up to 3 years but is reviewed regularly.

Because the service works with many families and young people we could have information that might be relevant to the meetings that other agencies may not have. There are three Homestays Advisors based in the county.
