Update- Woman sadly dies following incident at Crag View, Kendal

A woman who was burned this morning in an incident at her home in Crag View, Kendal, has sadly died in hospital.
 
Officers and fire crews were called to the address at 00:05 today (Friday 27th January).
 
Following the incident, 35-yr-old Stacey Mackie was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and later transferred to Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester, where she sadly died this afternoon.
 
A 61-yr-old man from Kendal was arrested this morning on suspicion of attempted murder and arson with intent to endanger life and, following Stacey’s death, detectives are now undertaking a murder investigation. The man is currently being treated at Furness General Hospital while officers continue their enquiries.
 
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the Crag View area of Kendal at around midnight on Thursday 26th January into the early hours of Friday 27th January 2012 to contact them. They are also keen to speak to anyone who has spoken to Stacey recently, seen her, or seen her speaking to a man over recent days.
