Cumbria police have recovered a £200,000 clock that was stolen from Levens Hall in Kendal on 19th September 2009. It was recovered from the back of a vehicle that was stopped at Birch Services on the M62 in Manchester on Tuesday 13 April.
A man has been charged in connection with the incident and in connection with the theft of a £50,000 sundial from Dalemain House near Pooley Bridge that occurred between 6-9th September 2009. The sundial is still missing.
57 year old Graham Geoffrey Harkin, of Chestnut Walk, Wakefield, West Yorkshire has been charged with:
- theft
- burglary and theft
- driving whilst disqualified
- driving without insurance
He appeared in South Lakeland Magistrates Court yesterday where he was remanded in custody. He is set to reappear in the same court on Thursday 22 April 2010.
