Man arrested following fires in Keswick this weekend

Police can confirm that the 46 year old local man arrested on suspicion of arson following three fires in Keswick this weekend has been placed on bail until 21 February 2013 while the investigation continues.

The arrest took place following an incident at Winderbrowe Avenue, Keswick during which three properties were damaged by fire. The alarm was raised just before midnight on Friday 21st December 2012.

Cumbria Police and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service are working together to establish how the fire started but at this stage the fires are being treated as suspicious.

No one suffered any injuries or harm but Cumbria Police are treating this incident very seriously.

Detectives in Workington CID are appealing for anyone with any information whatsoever to come forward. They would also like to speak with anyone who was in the area of Winderbrowe Avenue about the time of the incident.
