Other meetings that we attend:

Your Safer Stronger Community Meetings will be held at Ulverston Library on the first Wednesday of the month starting at 7pm

We asked at your last SSC meeting what your local priorities were - You said

  1. Ford Park Ulverston. Ford Park is an open access area of Ulverston with large grassed areas and newly planted trees. There has been an increasing problem with vehicles driving onto the grass, causing damage to the turf and some young samplings. The use of vehicles in the manner is prohibited under the terms of use of this area.

These are community priorities that local people in your area have agreed with the Neighbourhood Police. You can influence priorities by attending your next local meeting and informing your NPT what crimes need clearing up in your area.

We did - action taken or planned to tackle your priorities

North ward remains a low crime area for the month of July and overall crime compared to the same 3 month period last year has decreased by 64.5%.

During the month of July one burglary was reported in the area. North Ward residents are again reminded to please ensure your homes, vehicles and garages are kept secure at all times and any suspicious activity should be reported to the police.

There has been no vehicle crime reported between the 1st May and 31st July, 2010 respectively which shows a 100% decrease compared to this same period last year.

There were two reported incidents of violent crime and ten reported incidents of Anti-Social Behaviour during July, but again compared with the same three months last year, both violent and anti-social behaviour has decreased by 40% and 45.1% respectively. Work is ongoing to ensure anti-social behaviour remains on the decrease. High visibility patrols along with patrols in company with local youth workers are also in place to help reduce this problem.

Safer Stronger Communities have been set up to give you the opportunity for you to come along and tell us what your local priorities are so that we can deal with them.
