Over the April period reports of metal thefts and fuel thefts have continued in the South Cumbria area. We urge members of the community to report any suspicious vehicles or persons to Police on 101. In the Arnside area there has been a number of thefts in relation to wheelie bins and two incidents of arson. Enquiries are continuing in relation to these.
In the Milnthorpe area (including Hale and Heversham) there has been two thefts reported in relation to diesel and metal, and one incident of criminal damage reported. Please check your property regularly and do everything you can to keep it secure. We are happy to discuss ways to keep your home and property safe, all you need to do is get in touch! Also in the Milnthorpe area there has been and incident of arson, a report of criminal damage and a male arrested for assault. Enquiries are ongoing.
In the Levens area, garden pots were reported stolen and in the Crosthwaite area sheep we reported stolen. Please assist the Police by reporting any suspicious activity or anything you think may be unusual in relation to people or vehicles in your area. It may help build a bigger picture in the long run and provide a link between other crimes. In the Holme and Burton area, three thefts of metal were reported as well as an attempt burglary, a theft and an incident of criminal damage. Again, please take steps to make your property as unappealing to criminals as possible.
The Endmoor and Natland areas have been quiet. Endmoor and Natland are the Safer Stronger Community priority following an increase in complaints and logs regarding anti social behaviour. Patrols will continue to focus on the problem areas in a bid to reduce the amount of anti social behaviour occurring.
We regularly receive reports of scam phone calls in this area, please get in touch should you wish to discuss crime prevention advice and we will happily come and see you. The people making these calls can be very manipulative; don't be afraid to say NO!
Cold callers have been reported again in the area as a whole, we remind members of the community to be vigilant and report any suspicious incidents/people/vehicles to Police on 101 or to Trading Standards.
Pro active reporting of suspicious vehicles/persons from members of the community has assisted us with a lot of enquiries; we thank you for this and ask that you continue to do this by ringing Cumbria Police on the non-emergency number 101 (any time day or night).
