Drugs - Copeland
Cumbria Police take a hard stance against illegal drug use and supply, and are appealing to residents that should they have information about who is supplying drugs in West Cumbria that they inform their local community officers on 101 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Road Safety (Schools)
Recently we have had a number of complaints about pupil safety at school opening and closing times as a result of drivers parking or driving irresponsibly. As a result PCSO Dunlop has sent a letter to local schools raising parents awareness of the issue as well as conducting assemblies to raise pupils awareness of road safety, with more plan in November. We wish to remind road users to be extra careful and considerate at these times.
New Police non-emergency number comes to Cumbria
From Monday 12th December 2011 Cumbria Police will be replacing its current '0845' non-emergency number with a single, easy to remember number '101'. This number is being adopted nationally and will cost 15p per call anytime regardless of whether phoned from a mobile or landline. Please remember in an emergency always dial '999'.
Neighbourhood Watch
Copeland NPT are keen to recruit Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators. Cumbria Community Messaging Service
Cumbria Community Messaging (CCM), managed by the Cumbria Neighbourhood Watch Association (CNWA), offers People and Communities across Cumbria the means to receive information from Agencies in the County tailored to their particular preferences for content, priority and means of communication. It is a web based system and registration is quick, simple and completely free. There are no contracts, costs or obligations of any kind.
By registering on line you are simply agreeing to receive information but in some areas you will also be able to report information regarding potential crime and anti-social behaviour or other incidents you think are relevant. And provide helpful feedback to the agencies supplying information. For further information visit www.cumbriacommunitymessaging.co.uk or contact your local PCSO for support.
