We asked at your last SSC meeting what your local priorities were - You said
Anti social behaviour in Market Square, Kirkby Stephen between 1700 &2100 hours.
Parking on pavements on the Westgarth Estate.
Speeding A685, 40MPH section, Brough Sowerby, 0800-0900 hrs & 1600-1700 hrs
These are community priorities that local people in your area have agreed with the Neighbourhood
Police. You can influence priorities by attending your next local meeting and informing
your NPT what crimes need clearing up in your area.
We did - action taken or planned to tackle your priorities
- Anti social behaviour in Market Square, Kirkby Stephen between 1700 &2100 hours.
We continue to patrol the Market Square area as it is used by young people to meet and congregate. We have not witnessed any anti social behaviour and none has been reported to us.
- Parking on pavements on the Westgarth Estate.
We continue to monitor the Estate but believe that irresponsible parking is no longer an issue.
- Speeding A685, 40MPH section, Brough Sowerby, 0800-0900 hrs & 1600-1700 hrs
The Camera Safety Van and Appleby NPT officers frequently use the A685 at Brough Sowerby as a location to target those speeding. Warnings and enforcement have been used.

CRIME PREVENTION
Over the past few months Appleby NPT has suffered from burglaries of business premises. Offenders have forced doors and windows and have targeted cash tills and safes. In some cases windows have been left insecure or open. We would ask that you review your physical security of your premises and your security routines. If anyone would like any further advice on this please get in touch with Cumbria Constabulary on 0845 33 00 247.
Please help us in making Appleby NPT an unprofitable area for travelling criminals to visit. Keep your property secure and continue to report any suspicious vehicles or persons in our area.
