Other meetings that we attend:

We asked at your last SSC meeting what your local priorities were - You said

  1. Anti Social Behaviour on Sandylands Estate
  2. Anti Social Behaviour on Burton Road area.
  3. Metal Thefts in Kendal

These are community priorities that local people in your area have agreed with the Neighbourhood Police. You can influence priorities by attending your next local meeting and informing your NPT what crimes need clearing up in your area.

We did - action taken or planned to tackle your priorities

  1. Anti Social Behaviour on Sandylands Estate

Youth ASB is still our primary focus on Sandylands with incidents at the schools and the auction mart highlighted this month. High visibility patrols will be maintained on the estate and youths with be dealt with in a pro active way if caught. Some youths have already been spoken to along with parents regarding their behaviour and how it will not be tolerated.
  2. Anti Social Behaviour on Burton Road area.

Youths have been causing problems on Burton Road, The Leisure Centre and Rinkfield areas. This has mainly occurred in the evenings and consists of youths throwing stones at cars and being verbally abusive to members of the public. Police have spoken to youths and parents, some youths have been banned from entering the Leisure Centre grounds. Schools have been co operating with police to help tackle youth disorder.
  3. Metal Thefts in Kendal

Vehicles collecting metal items are still operating in the Kendal area and while the majority are legitimate metal collectors there are some who will take anything that is not secure. Metal prices are high at the moment and items such as bikes, garden furniture, ornaments and tools are desirable for metal thieves. It is important to lock and secure metal items on your property so they are out view to everyone else.
