We did - action taken or planned to tackle your priorities

Throughout January we have carried out the following,

    1. Put high visibility patrols in place to deter speeding vehicles
    2. Carried out speed gun checks on Denton Street and sent warning letters to offending motorists.
    3. Worked in conjunction with Robert Ferguson School to deal with parking offences.

We will continue to target Denton Street and Stanhope Road with the speed gun and patrol activity

101 - The police non-emergency number

101 is the number to call when you want to contact your local police - when it’s less urgent than a 999 call. 101 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Here is some simple crime prevention advice to make sure you do not make it easy for criminals and become a victim.

If you are going out for the night remember

·          Think: Keys, money, phone, plans to get home?
·          Plan in advance how you’re going to get home safely
·          Stick with your friends and look out for each other
·          Arrange a safe meeting place in case you get separated
·          Stash some cash in case you lose your purse
·          Know your limits and always stay in control
·          Store an ICE (in case of emergency) number in your phone

Pedal Cycles

Mark the cycle with your postcode

Contact your local officer if you wish us to place a security label on your cycle

Lock it when you cant see your cycle

Put your cycle away in a secure building and attach a lock

On Saturday 14th January and Sunday 15th January officers from Shadygrove Road Police Station set up and carried out cycle security marking. We are pleased to say that over the 2 day period a total of 179 cycles were security marked.

Saturday 14th January

Bits Park - 22, Scotby Cycles Shop 56

Sunday 15th January

Bitts Park 13, Stonegarth Shops 40, Hammonds Pond 48.

If you couldnt make it to the 2 day event please contact your community officer by phoning 101 to arrange to have your cycle security marked which will deter theives from stealling it and help us idfentify the owner should it be stolen.

Thank you to all of you who attended the security marking events.

Sheds & Outbuildings

Place a good quality lock on all doors and secure all windows

Purchase a shed alarm to deter and frighten off criminals

Consider moving high value items out of sheds to more secure locations

Postcode all your valuables that you keep in sheds.

Call the Police immediately if you see or hear anything suspicious .

Vehicles

Put your vehicle in a garage if you have one and make sure the garage is locked.

If you have no garage park your vehicle in a well lit area where it can be seen from neighbouring houses and make sure it is locked.

Check that you have a locking petrol cap fitted to the vehicle.

Remove all items of property from the vehicle do not leave items on view to theives

If you see anyone acting suspiciously around vehicles call the police immediatly
