We asked at your last SSC meeting what your local priorities were - You said

  1. Target drugs misuse across the geographic area. The meeting did not give any specific places or people due to community safety concerns but they asked that stop searches were continued and reasearch was carried out so we could target the generic drugs misuse

These are community priorities that local people in your area have agreed with the Neighbourhood Police. You can influence priorities by attending your next local meeting and informing your NPT what crimes need clearing up in your area.

We did - action taken or planned to tackle your priorities

  1. Target drugs misuse across the geographic area. The meeting did not give any specific places or people due to community safety concerns but they asked that stop searches were continued and reasearch was carried out so we could target the generic drugs misuse

We will research police intelligence systems and incident logs to identify premises and persons who may be engaged in drugs supply.
We will carry out proactive stop search of individuals where evidence exists of drug use.
We will carry out searches of premises we identify may be dealing in drugs.

On 22/7/10 NPT officers carried out a search of an address on East Norfolk Street, Carlisle. As a result of the search 3 arrests were made on suspicion of possesion and possesion with intent to supply illegal drugs. The landlord of the property was made aware and has issued a notice of eviction on his tennant, the notice was served on 27/7/10 and gave 1 months notice. The NPT at Shadygrove Road Police Station will continue not only to prosecute offenders but also remove them from the area so other residents lives are not adversely affected by criminal behaviour.
