Other meetings that we attend:

Your Safer Stronger Community Meetings will be held at Ulverston Library on the first Wednesday of the month starting at 7pm

We asked at your last SSC meeting what your local priorities were - You said

  1. Tackling poaching and other illegal activities relating to the taking of wildlife in the rural areas of Ulverston and Furness

These are community priorities that local people in your area have agreed with the Neighbourhood Police. You can influence priorities by attending your next local meeting and informing your NPT what crimes need clearing up in your area.

We did - action taken or planned to tackle your priorities

  1. Tackling poaching and other illegal activities relating to the taking of wildlife in the rural areas of Ulverston and Furness

We are working with local land owners, National Park Authority and the South Cumbria Deer Management group to agree strategies to target offenders and food oulets which accept illegally obtained meat. Regular multi agency "Poacher Watch" operations will be conducted in the area and numerous publicity campaigns are being planned to highlight these issues.
