The next Safer Stronger Community (SSC) priority meeting
We asked at your last SSC meeting what your local priorities were - You said
Anti social use of motor vehicles and speeding vehicles through the village
These are community priorities that local people in your area have agreed with the Neighbourhood
Police. You can influence priorities by attending your next local meeting and informing
your NPT what crimes need clearing up in your area.
We did - action taken or planned to tackle your priorities
- Anti social use of motor vehicles and speeding vehicles through the village
Local members of the community informed us that the number one concern for the residents of Burneside is the anti social use of motor vehicles in the area. This includes vehicles travelling too fast through the 30 mph limit in the village as well as vehicles being used in an anti social manner e.g. wheel spinning/excessive revving of engines.
During the past three months we have continued to carry out high visibility patrols and several drivers have been stopped and spoken to regarding their driving habits. Some drivers that were spoken to were issued with warnings. We have also carried out speed checks in the area that resulted in several drivers receiving fixed penalty notices.
