  1. ASB Roosegate Estate (Westway, Longway, Broadway)1800-0000hrs

    December- We have now adopted Roosegate as our priority and as such have increased our presence on the estate and are committed to attending incidents of ASB within the hour. The figures for December are encouraging with significant falls in general ASB on the on the priority area.

    January-We will continue to give the estate priority status. Remember you can also report ASB to your housing officer

Burglary 

There were five reported burglaries during November. In December this was down to three. An allotment was broken into on Flass Lane and an attempt was made to gain entry to St Lukes church. A male was charged with burglary at an address on Broadway where £360 worth of electrical equipment was stolen.

Criminal Damage 

Criminal damage still accounts for our biggest area of crime in Barrow and in October there were 25 reported incidents; in November this dropped to 14. In December there was another fall with 8 reported incidents. Fences were damaged on Newton Brow and Jarrow Street and windows were damaged on Mardale Grove, Wasdale Close and Longway. Two cars were damaged one on Dale Bank and a second on Rochester Place.

ASB  

Anti-social behaviour incidents fell from 44 to 42 with 16 involving youths (the same as November). There were no areas of significance although 7 incidents were reported on the priority area of the Roosegate Estate.

Please respect the area you live in and think about others.

Violent crime

There were 11 recorded assaults in this area during September. In most cases the offender and victim knew each other.

Barrow Police Station, Market Street, is open 08:00am until midnight every day.

The police station at Barrow will be open until midnight except on the dates and times listed below during December and Janaury we apologise for any inconvenience.

Access Details

Barrow Police station has full wheelchair access to the front counter. Blue badge holders can park on Market Street from where there is level access to the entrance. An induction loop system is in place for the hard of hearing.

There is no disabled toilet facility at this station.
