Members of the public are also advised that they can now purchase shed alarms at a reasonable price from any Age Concern shop in West Cumbria.  The alarms are effective and will help reduce and prevent burglary in West Cumbria.

Police would like to warn the rural community that there has been an increase in people touting for scrap metal in the North Allerdale policing area. We would urge anybody with large amounts of metal lying around to consider taking it to a scrap dealer or ensure the security of the scrap by locking the items away. Please note down any registration numbers of persons cold calling at your farm and these details on to your local officer.

In recent weeks there has been an increase in the theft of diesel in our area.  Should any person or persons or vehicles be seen in suspicious circumstances then it is requested they report any issues to the police.

During August 2010 police officers will be conducting burglary patrols in your area and request that should you see anything suspicious that you report to Cumbria Police on 0845 33 00247 or Crime Stoppers 0800 555 111.
