Other meetings that we attend:

We asked at your last SSC meeting what your local priorities were - You said

  1. Aspatria

    • Speeding in Aspatria on A596 Road and in surrounding locations including Outgang Road, Queen Street and Lawson Street, Aspatria.
Parking on double yellow lines and causing obstructions.
  2. Antisocial behaviour and antisocial driving on Brandraw car park

These are community priorities that local people in your area have agreed with the Neighbourhood Police. You can influence priorities by attending your next local meeting and informing your NPT what crimes need clearing up in your area.

We did - action taken or planned to tackle your priorities

  1. Aspatria

    • Speeding in Aspatria on A596 Road and in surrounding locations including Outgang Road, Queen Street and Lawson Street, Aspatria.
Parking on double yellow lines and causing obstructions.

Local officers are continuing to work on this priority.
There have been several traffic operations in Aspatria during the past few months which have resulted in Speeding Tickets being issued as well as verbal and written warnings to motorists.
Fixed penalty notices have also been given out for offenders spotted on their mobile phone or not wearing a seatbelt as well as tickets for defective tyres and lights.
Speed checks will continue both in Aspatria and rural areas.
Officers will continue to move on any vehicles parked inconsiderately or illegally. Warning notices and in some cases fines will be given out to anyone causing an obstruction. PCSO's have been working closely with enforcement officers from Allerdale to ticket any offenders on the double yellow lines and causing obstruction to the drop curbs and footpaths. If you have details of any offending vehicles you can pass them on to your local officers or leave them at Aspatria library marked for the attention of PCSO Chrissy Maloney or PC Claire Lawler.
  2. Antisocial behaviour and antisocial driving on Brandraw car park

Police Patrols on Brandraw car park have increased and warning letters sent to drivers.
The anti social use of Brandraw Car Park will not be tolerated.
Anyone seen to be driving inconsiderately or parked up in an anti social manner will be dealt with in a serious way.
CCTV has now been installed on the car park and is being monitored frequently by officers.
Section 59 warnings will be issued where appropriate and vehicles may then be seized.
Beeping of horns and flashing headlights whilst stationary can still be very distracting and dangerous to other road users as well as an offence.
Anyone who witnesses any of this behaviour is encouraged to take details of the vehicle to pass on to your local community officers.
