Police Community Support Officer

Current Situation - Cumbria Constabulary has had to slow down recruitment and are not, at this time, actively recruiting for new Police Community Support Officers.  However, should this change then information will be updated accordingly.

As a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), you would support the work of Cumbria Constabulary by providing a visible and reassuring presence on the streets.

You would deal with a wide range of crime and disorder problems.

Some of your tasks would include:

  • Providing support to front line policing
  • Dealing with minor offences
  • Dealing with truants, graffiti, abandoned vehicles, litter, missing person enquiries
  • Confiscating alcohol being consumed in a public place
  • Supporting and helping victims of crime
  • Controlling crowds at major events
  • Providing low-level crime prevention and safety advice in the local community

You can work full time or part time as a PCSO, and it could lead to a long career with Cumbria Constabulary.
