Freedom of Information Act – Publication Scheme
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, public authorities have to produce a publication scheme. As of 1st January 2009 the Information Commissioner has introduced a new model Publication Scheme that applies to all public authorities and can be found here. A definition document was also produced to accompany the new scheme and can be found here.

From 1st January 2005, Cumbria Constabulary will also respond to individual requests for information not listed in the Publication Scheme. If you wish to request information in this way, you should apply using the postal and e-mail addresses below, and include the same details.
We will provide information listed in the Publication Scheme promptly and in any case within twenty working days. We aim to provide information subject to an individual request within twenty working days, although this may be extended in certain circumstances.
