Want to have a go at balancing the police budget?

Welcome to our online budget survey which gives you the chance to have your say on the policing priorities in Cumbria and the council tax.

At the end of the survey you will be presented with a feedback box, please complete this with your thoughts on the policing priorities and your views on the options available in respect of the policing element of the council tax.

Whatever the level of funding available to us, we remain committed to delivering the best possible policing service to the people of Cumbria and our aim is still to make the county a safe place to live in, work in and visit.

How to use the budget tool

Following are six key areas of policing activity. For each activity there are four different levels of service that each cost a different amount of money.

Your task is to choose the level of service you think is right for each policing activity, but remember that your total budget must not exceed £100m and you must allocate funding to each of the activity areas. The bar on the bottom right hand side of the following pages tracks how you are doing.
