How to Report a Crime

There are five main ways that you can report a crime:

  • If it is an emergency situation such as a life or death situation or the crime is in progress dial 999
  • If it is a non-emergency situation, call 0845 33 00 247 and speak to one of our Communications Operators
  • Contact your local Neighbourhood Policing Team. If you're not sure who they are, type your postcode into the search facility on the right hand side of this page
  • Call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 - Crimestoppers is a completely independent organisation which allows you to provide details of a crime without revealing your identity - all you have to do is provide as much information as you can about the crime
  • Visit your local police station
