Commander North Cumbria - Chief Superintendent Don Spiller

Don Spiller is originally from Cumbria. After leaving school he spent several years in the army after this he worked in London and then spent three years working in Iraq.
He joined Cumbria Constabulary in 1988 where he has spent the majority of his time in uniform working throughout the County. He worked as a Constable in Whitehaven before being promoted to Sergeant in 1991, working in Barrow then moving to Workington. On promotion to Inspector he went to Kendal and then Windermere. He has spent over two years on the Tactical Support Group followed by 2 years as the Chief Inspector in the Criminal Justice Unit before moving to South Cumbria covering Kendal and Barrow. In 2007 he was promoted to Superintendent in South Cumbria and became the Commander for Uniformed Operational Support in July 2008.
Don became Commander for North Cumbria in 2010.
