Customer Services

Customer Services is split into four sections:

Service Desk advises users on any aspects of ICT systems, resolve any problems, fix faulty systems and replace broken equipment.

Systems Administration control access to force ICT systems by authentication of users and setting of system user ID's, passwords and access control systems. Administration of systems also includes maintaining all system information, being involved in user testing and acting as expert users for some systems.

ICT Training deliver new and refresher courses for all ICT systems by either classroom training or electronic course material.

Business Relationship team work with system owners to ensure that ICT systems effectively support changing operational requirements.  Changes to business processes are examined and proposals put forward for system changes.

 

Systems Integration


Once an IS project has been commissioned by the ICT Steering Group (ITSG), Systems Integration work with Business Analysts from Customer Services to review existing business processes and, if necessary, make changes to those processes before implementing new ICT systems.  They locate, assess and procure the systems and products that meet the requirements identified by the business analysis process.  Systems Integration also direct the technical strategy for all future ICT systems.

 

ICT Operations

The ICT Systems section is divided into specialist technical teams which are responsible for the 7 x 24 delivery of all Force ICT systems :
Network team deliver the Force data network and Force telephony systems.

Radio team deliver the Airwave radio system and its integration with the Force Command & Control system for 999 calls.

Technical support teams deliver different technical environments like Windows Servers and Desktops, Unix servers, SQL and Oracle databases and over 80 different software systems which comprise the Force ICT environment.
