Firearms Licensing

Welcome to the section for the Cumbria Constabulary Firearms Licensing Unit.

Our work, including the necessary vetting of every applicant, inevitably takes time. Certificates authorise the legal possession or access to firearms and cannot be issued without proper and thorough investigation of an applicant’s background.

Every effort is made to ensure each application is processed with the utmost efficiency. Applicants can assist by ensuring all documents are correct and submitted promptly.
